Team
A team is the day-to-day unit for a roster: schedule, games, roster, staff, the team's view of any household linked to that team, team messages, alerts, and team-scoped payments. A team may stand alone or be linked to a club.
Club
A club is an organization that can contain multiple teams. Club staff get a club dashboard, broadcasts, registration events, club-wide messaging, and club payments. Clubs have their own Stripe subscription, independent of team subscriptions.
Household
A household (family) groups parents and players for messaging and payments. Payments belong to a team (or club); the household is required to receive them and can be linked to many teams. Each account is in at most one household at a time. The same household can be linked to multiple teams where your family has a roster; the Household screen is the central place to manage members, dependents, and household invite codes across those links. The product does not store a separate household “display name”; grouping is by membership and codes, not a custom label. A child can exist in the household without being on any team's roster until a parent or staff rosters them.
A household invite code is for inviting someone already on the team to request joining your household. A dependent claim code (six characters; the web roster may label it Join code) is for a child without a login to claim their roster spot during onboarding—see Households and invites.
Staff / parent / player
- Staff — coaches and managers; can manage schedule, results (scores/outcomes; including Add result for games not on the schedule), roster, payments (where enabled), and settings.
- Parent — guardian linked to a player; uses household and messaging features.
- Player — roster member; may have a dependent workflow for younger athletes.
Broadcast
A broadcast is a club-level announcement with an audience (whole club, selected teams, or roles). Different from team alerts, message threads, and Club Messages (the club dashboard inbox that lists team threads across linked teams).
Registration event
A registration event is a club-published signup form, optionally with Stripe checkout and document uploads, exposed via a public link.
Team subscription / club subscription
Team subscription unlocks the app for a single team’s roster (after checkout). Club subscription unlocks club dashboard features. Paying for one does not automatically cover the other.
Athleit service fee
For online checkouts on Stripe Connect, Athleit may charge a small application (service) fee per payment. Staff can configure whether the household or the team/club pays that fee, where the product allows it.
That fee is not the same as Stripe processing fees (for example, typical US card charges vs US ACH Direct Debit). Stripe’s fees are set by Stripe and affect the connected account’s payout; only the Athleit fee appears as a Athleit-labeled line item at checkout when the organization passes that fee to households.
Fee choice
A fee choice is a single-select option on a payment or registration event: a label, an amount, and its own list of installment plans. Each event can offer multiple fee choices (e.g. Full season — $400, Half season — $250); the household picks one at checkout or enrollment. Fee choices replace the older "single amount + event-wide plans" model.
Installment plan
An installment plan is a payment plan available on a fee choice — for example Pay in full, 2 payments, or 3 payments. Plans are configured per fee choice, and Pay in full is always available and cannot be removed. Each installment is a separate Stripe checkout session, so processing fees apply per checkout.
Soft delete (payment and registration events)
Staff can delete a payment or registration event from the staff detail page. Deletion is a soft delete: the event moves to the Deleted tab on the list and remains restorable, with all recipient and payment records intact. Hard delete is not exposed in-app — contact support if you have a real need to purge an event.
